Ubisoft will release Far Cry 6 on October 7 and show gameplay footage

Ubisoft has shown the first gameplay footage of Far Cry 6 during a live stream on YouTube. The game will be released on October 7 on PC, Stadia, Xbox One, the Xbox Series consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, according to Ubisoft.

Far Cry 6 Release Date Announced During Gameplay Reveal

The story of Far Cry 6 is set on the fictional island of Yara where dictator Anton Castillo and his son rule and you as Dani Rojas, a male or female guerrilla fighter, go to war against the regime that oppresses the local population. With the help of a mentor, Juan Cortez, you will learn all the tricks of the guerrilla trade and explore the open world check-point by check-point. Dictator Castillo is played by actor Giancarlo Esposito, known for Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian.

Again, dozens of weapons are available. The game’s developers make clever use of a fictional way of life that prevails on the island: the ‘Resolver’ way of life. This belief states that all discarded objects can be reused, including in weapons. This makes countless crazy weapon combinations possible, including a machine gun that can fire CDs at high speed at enemies.

Not only the weapon system has been expanded, the in-game fauna is also a game element. For example, a player can choose to train an animal and be accompanied during certain missions. The trailer reveals that Far Cry 6 will be released on PC, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 starting October 7.
