Peonies (Paeonia lactifolia, P. officinalis)
The peony is not only beautiful, but also a very grateful perennial ornamental plant. It develops more and more flowers with a diameter of 8-10 cm in a well-structured, nutritious soil every year. Plant it in a perennial perimeter bed or in a wooded part of the garden, where it looks great with spring bulbs, ornamental bulbs, emperor crown.
Planting peonies
It still feels good in a sunny but half-shaded place. He likes medium-bound or lighter soils, and root mold can ruin over-bound, moist soil. He appreciates irrigation and the annual supply of nutrients.
Propagation of peonies
It can be propagated by stalking in late August or early spring, but pay attention to the fact that it develops deep-rooted arm roots, so it does not tolerate frequent disturbance, transplantation. If we can choose, we prefer to choose autumn propagation, so that there is time for the separated stems to regenerate and take root. The separated fragments are planted at a distance of 30-40 cm in humus-rich soil and the shoot buds are covered with 4-5 cm thick soil.
In the case of spring propagation, it is worth breaking off the annual buds so that the plant can devote more of its energies to rooting.
Step by step step by step >>
It blooms weaker for 1-2 years after planting, and then intensifies more and more in the following years.
Pruning rose
then it is worth removing (budding) your armpit shoots so that the main flower can grow bigger. If we plant it in a flower bed, it is not advisable to bud, as the weight of the flowers is important there, not their size.
After flowering, cut the flower stalks from the stems – but leave half of the shoots, on them only remove the flowering flower heads.
