Signify will no longer produce the Globe and Triangle lamps of the Philips Hue Lightguide series released at the end of last year due to ‘aesthetic inconsistency’. The Ellipse lamp will continue to be sold as usual.

According to Hrank, the quality problems emerged from ‘consumer tests’, after which it was decided to stop production completely.
The Lightguide lamps were released in the Netherlands in December. They contain a light bar that can display different shades of white as well as colors. The smart, dimmable E27 bulbs have a maximum brightness of 500 lumens and 2700 Kelvin and are intended to be used without a lampshade. The triangular and spherical versions cost 85 euros, while the Ellipse lamp should cost 100 euros.
